hello april... hello monochromatic...
seriously april?yes, it has been a very long, cold winter...
yes, i have been waiting for spring...
but april already!?!
and shame on me for not putting up one post since my initial few that i started this blog with!
spring is a good time to start anew... second chances if you will.
to celebrate the spring finally making some signs of life here in new jersey...
i decided to create a "spring feel" layout with a favorite photo of my daughter from easter quite a few years back...
i wanted this layout to be monchromatic...
tone on tone...
& with my "forever favorite" color, pink...
more precisely blush...
i am in. love. with blush pink right now...
& i have always been a fan of the monochromatic design scheme...
this is what i came up with...
the base of the layout is from the heidi swapp line, "hello today"...
i fell in love with it as soon as i saw it!
the beautiful floral in the different shades of blush...
the flowers of the printed paper, played nicely with the flowers on my daughter's dress...

i used one of the new heidi swapp butterfly cards and misted it with blush "color shine"... these cards are so fun to customize to fit your color scheme! i love that you can create a quick handmade card and keep it simple or ornate as you want... or as in this case, i used it as an embellishment and a place to keep journaling hidden...
i embellished with heidi swapp "banner delights"... a fave, ephemera & a "vintage heidi" ghost word which was the perfect match in blush!
i also used blush "color shine" on a "color magic" tag, pop-dotted a color-shined piece of ephemera & added sequins in two tones of blush for the finishing detail...
hope i inspired you today to pick out a favorite color and go monochromatic!
xoxo...
